Yep, it renders most of the common search tools available on the internet useless…including my own! (more…)

What’s really going on in the Burlington Housing market?

Thursday, May 19th, 2011

Now it is the National Association of Realtors (NAR) turn to heap praise on the Burlington housing market. http://www.bankrate.com/finance/mortgages/q1-2011-nar-best-housing-markets-4.aspx Citing only the rise in median home prices as an indicator of our improving market, this article fails to convey the rest of the story.

VA Home Loans: Benefiting Vermont Veterans

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

Lake Champlain Flooding

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011

Yep, the flood.  Everyone is talking about it and most people have seen some of the damage.  Living in Burlington, it is hard to miss what is going on in our backyard.  The lake, in parts, has flooded up to the bike path and the restaurant Breakwaters and a statue of our Lake Monster Champ are both submerged.

Check out this link brought to you by the folks at newspin360.com.  Some very compelling 360 degree images which allow you to pan and zoom and get a sense of the damage caused in our region.

Diversity in Vermont?

Wednesday, April 13th, 2011

Vermont isn’t often considered a hotbed of diversity.  According to the most recent census data, the white population is at 96.2% versus 79.6 in the rest of the country.

The Burlington Free Press recently ran an article about the changing ethnic mix that is occurring in Burlington (mostly in the Old North End) and Winooski.  As a Burlington resident for the last 15 or so years, it has really been exciting to witness this transformation.  Read the full article here…
